Originally the Gretna Post Office, this handsome example of Depression-era architecture was constructed in 1936 and expanded in 1963.
It served the community until 2003. It was purchased by the city in anticipation of preserving and restoring the building as a historic landmark.

The lobby is beautifully appointed with painted canvases of Gretna landmarks and period wall coverings.
